I’m a single issue voter for student loans. I’m willing to sell my vote until some/all of my debt gets canceled. I’m in the awkward income bracket to debt ratio where a lot of the plans don’t benefit me yet it’s a massive hardship to pay monthly. Fingers crossed something actually passes for the group of us who can’t get PSLF, haven’t been paying 20+ years, and have been left out so far. I will just say that what Biden has canceled so far has been amazing and I’m so happy for those people!
He made promises last election season as well.., I won’t hold my breathe he does anything he is saying he will. I hope so, but I doubt it.

Buzz words. What a failed presidency.
But is for who? Only people with “hardship?” Hardship counts as?
🙄
A "new" plan? Hasn't this been his platform since 2020? I'll believe it when I see it for myself.
Realistically, the folks this benefits should be voting for Biden anyway.

So they will never get out of poverty
The people he has forgiven loans for are people who should loans forgiven already based on the federal programs they were under. These programs aren’t run correctly or use tactics to keep people paying forever.
He is using this as good PR to get votes because people don’t dig too deep into it but most of the people that receive forgiveness have already paid significant interest to the point their repayment is double or more than their original loan.
He won’t do anything meaningful because he doesn’t want to and can’t. His PR team knows it is a better selling point to say he has pushed what he can but that Republicans and Supreme Court are in his way. 😒
Lifetime Dem here and I will not vote for him.
If you think a vote for Kennedy will serve your interests better than a vote for Biden or Trump, then more power to you. I genuinely want more parties in the mix, it’s the fastest way to a more reasonable government.
I think it’s a false equivalence to argue Trump and Biden are both bad but one is worse. Biden is too old and isn’t as effective on domestic solutions are liberals want but has quietly been a productive president that warrants my vote. He is not just the less bad candidate, he is a significantly better option than Trump, IMO.
If there was an attractive 3rd party candidate and Trump wasn’t in the field, I’d consider voting for them. I have in the past. The fact of the matter is Kennedy is not going to win and I’m not willing to risk Trump beating Biden by one vote in my state that I could have prevented.
Appreciate your answer. Best of luck to you.
Hmmm I never really thouhht about this as a means to secure votes but I can understand how that could be construed as that. I really don't think that is the intention though.

Don’t be naive. Everything any politician says is a means to secure votes.
