In search of some negotiating advice:

Got a job offer in an interview yesterday (on another continent) and want to negotiate working in hybrid format so I don’t have to move. I haven’t seen a written offer yet.

Is it better to email asking for a contract in writing (and responding with a potential start date) and then send the negotiation piece until after seeing the offer in writing?

Working for the UN, on a overseas mission but remotely?

I don't think that would work 😅

In any negotiations, you should collect as much information as possible beforehand and be upfront. Never corner your counterparts otherwise they will stop the negotiations.

Cold applied for an awesome role, had an interview with hiring manager, recruiter, and given a pretty hefty assignment that I’m really proud of nailing. They followed up with an email asking for 4-5 days that I am available for a full day of interviews. Gave them 4-5 days, started planning for how I’d get those days off work during insane times at current job, and now not a single word from them to confirm a date. Been over a week now. Sad. Pretty jaded. What can I do? Already followed up
