Hi everyone! I’m a young CPA, relocating to Raleigh. I made the decision to transition into sales after realizing that I want to bring more fun into my career. I’m currently reading sales books, watching Keenan’s YouTube channel, and learning all I can. I’m relentlessly applying for SDR positions but I’m having trouble landing interviews (been applying through LinkedIn). I would appreciate advice from anyone who transitioned from another industry into sales. How did you break the barrier?
What would you wear if you heard your new client is business casual? What if you're interviewing?
Need advice: have been interviewing for a strat role. Did a case in late December. Someone left the team in new year so they have to reevaluate their org structure. Recruiter and director keep reaching out to confirm interest and just spoke to director. They won’t have an answer for 2-3 weeks now but still like me. Job is still open on LinkedIn. Are they going to hire me or not?
Imagine a firm having honesty and transparency as their core values, and then ghosting you after interviews.
As a general rule, how bad is it to test out the waters by applying to a job, getting the offer, and then rejecting it -“now’s not the right time” - while staying at your current company? Blacklisted?
How long can you ride the bench? Will be rolling off my project soon and would like to spend my beach time applying to industry jobs

Has anyone bombed their last interview (case or assessment) and still got the job? My assessment went over 10mins and so my interviewers and I didn’t have a chance to exchange much, but I did make an effort to ask if they still have some time and asked more questions related to the role. What are my chances 🥲
Got a week to prepare for Bain interview. Any tips? Maybe it’s normal but they didn’t respond for like a month after I applied so figured I didn’t get it. Wondering what I should prioritize.

Help with an offer at pre-IPO tech unicorn. Current: 112k base, 15k bonus, 3YOE Offer: 120k base, 16k bonus, no sign-on, 70k RSUs vesting 25% after 1 year and 7% each quarter after that. I’d like to ask for 135k plus 10k sign-on since I’m forfeiting 5k bonus and another 8-9k in unvested 401k. Is that reasonable? I’d be ok with 130k and 5k sign-on

Being an ACD that’s over 40, I feel people wonder why am I not a CD or ECD yet. I was a late bloomer in advertising, didn’t aggressively chase advancement, and made the mistake of staying at agencies way too long, so I climbed up slowly.
Inspired by one of my kids' favorite books, I penned this masterpiece of an Ode to Consulting: One senior partner all alone Calls two managing directors on the phone Three associate partners at the door Bring along another four Five senior managers come overdressed Six managers show up with a guest Seven senior consultants arrive in a sack Eight associates sneak in the back Nine analysts come to work ALL THE CONSULTANTS GO BERSERK!!! Ok, I'll show myself out now... 😂
