I have two years of automotive/aerospace manufacturing experience and am looking for new opportunities. I recently applied to a Solution Engineer - Commercial Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy (MAE) role at Salesforce, and it sounds like a great fit. Is anyone willing to offer me a referral or advice on how to move forward in the hiring process? Salesforce

I got this feedback twice at Amazon so I kept going through 9 more interviews for roles that they referred me to and that purportedly would be a better fit for me. Then after the last of those interviews they ghosted me and never gave me a yes/no answer to my application.
What role did you interview for?
It's a good feedback and better than a rejection which will put you on the blacklist for 6 months at the minimum.
This means you can still apply for roles and be considered. You should also ask the recruiter if he/she can refer you to others teams internally.
I received the same feedback from another Tech company. The way I would think about it is that you now have a strong referral for another role at Amazon.
It helps but isn’t stronger than that nor will the team go out of their way to help find a role.
When I separated from the military, I interviewed with Target to run a Distribution Center. I got the same response and the result was 3 other locations tried to find me roles in order to try to keep in the network.
I ended up going to DHL for a PM role but I took it just as a compliment / acknowledgement of my skillset despite whatever constraint (budget, project cancelled, better candidate found).
I got rejected by amazon after an interview but it was a really good learning experience in terms of learning. I think you got a good feedback, if I were you I would connect with the interviewers in LI and keep in touch in case they do find a role you’re better suited for
