Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group is too slow. For anything you wanna do inside the organization, 12 months of tenure is required. Even for promotions its the same no matter hoew exceptionally you perform.
Whereas Bain & Company has no such minimum tenure requirement. My colleague got promoted in 4th months of joining right out of college.

If you're going to be in FSO advisory then better learn to gel with the IBM SM/PPMD's that have joined in droves over the last year or so. Either you're in that coterie or you're on your own
This - culture to the dogs.
I’m hearing 5-8 for Partner but 5 is exceptional and I know some beyond 8 lately. Culture is great in general but your experience can be a lot of what you make it. Get involved in your local office outside on your engagements and build your network. SMs get 25 vacation days (used to be 3 personal and 22 vacation but they’re combining going forward). The US firm also closes July 4th week and the week between Christmas and NY. You get several days PTO but do have to use some vacation for those weeks as well.
I agree with EY1 on the PTO stuff but if you're hired in as a SM, you can plan to make partner in 3-5 years. However, there are a lot of factors that go into that....sales, managed revenue, utilization, networking, coaching.
Do you how know what the buying is for partnership
