Al above are correct in that you do it privately but if they are going to offer they call HR first. Your HR is looped in before you are offered so it’s this weird thing where you are outed before you even know the offer details. And then, yes, your raise is capped at 15%. I’ve lived this as a manager losing an employee, hiring one and as a friend to people going both ways as well. I know the drill well.
There’s a cap for how much more you can make, like 10% or so. We managed to get around this by having a third offer from a non-IPG agency. Good luck!
Made the move from FCB to another IPG agency and couldnt receive the paper offer until i notified HR i intended to move. Transition process was extremely easy though and i didnt have to fill out any paper work.
I think you can go for it without telling anyone until it’s time BUT I’ve heard they negotiate your salary for you.
Which may or may not be ideal depending on your situation.
Yeah I believe the main rule is there is a limit to how much of a raise the new place can offer you. 15% I think. So don't lie about your salary.
