The drinks there are more than $5 before tax. So you’d be buying them part of a cup of coffee… I mean I guess that’s fine?
If you can’t afford to gift a proper amount, don’t give anything at all. The gesture is nice, but you will come off as cheap. $10 gift card won’t break the bank. $5 can’t even get an item. $20 is a respectable amount.
If that’s really all you can afford; no, don’t do it. Go with what someone else recommended— a handwritten, heartfelt note wishing them happy holidays and thanking them for their efforts over the past year is worth far more.

I'd send a heartfelt note praising them instead.
I feel you.. but maybe add something else to it.. a card expressing appreciation with the gift card or some chocolates, etc. I gave my staff $25 gift cards to Uber Eats but I don’t have 12 people. That definitely would have lessened the contribution.
$15/20. Ask your coleads to pool some money
A Starbucks card is better if you had to do $5. Id be pissed though and rather get a personalized thank you card
$5 dollar Starbucks makes me upset when I receive them. A venti on their seasonal menu is around $7. Unless you’re a black coffee drinker, it’s not a treat.
They also don’t typically sell 5 dollar ones anymore unless you special order them.
Wow! You al are tough!! I would love a $5 gift card and a nice note.. a $2 latte instead of $7 feels reasonable to me and you can get the $5 ones in a pack at Sam’s but have never heard of lalaland .. live in the suburbs
