Is Agile or PMP more valuable? Or should I do both? Btw I am Federal

No way - PMP is a major certification even though agile is more relevant. PMP is way harder and has agile concepts embedded in the whole practice so more credibility = more open doors

like

Same goes for CPA - Ive heard many ppl who said the same. Also a majority of folks fail PMP on the first go and vice versa for CPA. Appreciate ur comments but then again, that is only ur case and not others

I've heard agile opens more doors, but can't claim real expertise here. Just signed up for an agile class though so fingers crossed

I have both. Agile gets more attention, but on some job apps PMP is a nice to have so I check that box too.

If you want to stay in federal....do the PMP. I've found that commercial clients like agile methodology.

Hi All! I recently started my own Private Equity firm. Searching for any big do’s, dont’s, or hard lessons you learned along the way. Do any veteran entrepreneurs/PE partners or staff members have advice they would like to pass down? I know early on in my consulting career there are many things I wish I could go back and tell myself.

As always, thank you all! 🐟

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. I’m torn because the opportunity is great but the stress was awful. Continued in comments…

Hello, I am looking to make a career change that starts at a minimum 75K salary. The economy is tough right now and I can no longer afford to stay in my current role. I have a bachelors degree in Sociology with experience in managed care, utilization management, & clinical admin.. Does anyone have any suggestions for a possible higher paying career that I would be qualified for based on my background?

I need help, I looking for a good paying job because I am tired of being a teacher assistant. I am kind of stuck and don’t know what route to take. A lot of people are saying I should do IT because I can find a work from home because of my kids or I should open a child care at home but honestly I am tired and I don’t know what to do.

Currently SM at Bain (4 years post MBA) and was approached for a senior associate role in portfolio ops at a large PE fund. Been told 2.5 years to VP and another 2.5 years to director. Feels like the role is a bit junior but offers a 50% pay jump.

Thoughts on seniority? Also, any interview resources for PE portfolio roles?
