Is anyone at a job they really, truly enjoy that also pays competitively (and has good benefits)? In my experience, I haven’t found anything that satisfies both. Either I love the job and I’m grossly underpaid or the job is totally mediocre but the money is great. Is it really possible to have it all or do I need to lower my standards? Maybe it’s just the way this industry is?

I found out that I could be paid more and it left a bad taste in my mouth, but otherwise I do love my team and the work that I do. There are some other perks that help (eg. RRSP contribution, 4 weeks vacation) that’s not directly in my salary but it’s still worth a lot, to me at least).

If you find a place that has both, let me know!

I'm thinking of leaving a job I've worked in for only 4.5 months. The work is somehow both complex yet boring, though the culture that I noticed was okay (kindness, respect, assistance) but there are a few red flags

🚩people often work late into the night for projects/clients and then
🚩They take RTO too seriously (sprained my ankle and couldn't WFH)
🚩 there is no one between 0-2 years and 10yrs for tenure here...

Am I just too jumpy?

Does anyone know what is the salary
range for Senior technical consultant- Mulesoft
in Salesforce. How much i can ask, my experience is 5 years 4 months

I’ve been a project manager (delivery focused) for 8 years now and have worked across multiple companies / teams as I am a contractor. Lately I’ve been feeling really bored in my roles and not challenged enough. I’ve previously loved what I do but now I feel indifferent towards my role. I’m worried if I look for more senior PM roles I will feel the same. What other options could I explore and has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hello! I'm starting an MBB consulting job this spring and I want to make sure that I spend & save responsibly.

Here are some questions I have:

What's a reasonable percentage of monthly net income to spend on rent in a HCOL city? Right now it looks it will be 37% but that seems high.
After clearing debt, 6 mo emergency fund, maxing 401k contributions, what's next? Mega backdoor Roth IRAs seem a little overwhelming, maybe something like a HYSA or just a trading account?

Appreciate your help!

Hello, I need advice on salary negotiations at my current employer. Got offered a HR management role @ $62k a year. The average salary in SLC is $73k. Someone less than 1 year of experience earns $69k. I’m also PHR certified and have 5+ years of progressive experience in all functions of HR. Anyone in the outdoor or sporting goods industry with a company size of 250-300 employees? TIA

My current CTC at HSBC is 14 lakhs for 3.9 yoe and i expected 17lkhs.

Is my expected CTC above average?

Question for consultants in healthcare, what books have you found helpful in your career? I’m starting soon, but I come from a clinical background, and haven’t been exposed to that much beyond that. I have been doing a lot of reading (mainly JAMA/NEJM articles on policy, HBR articles, Christensen and Porters books on innovation etc). I’ve found them immensely helpful (I’m still early on, so I learn a lot with each new book). Outside of news sources, what books have you found helpful?
Thank you!

I’m a jr litigation associate with many years of tech work pre law school. A former coworker has offered to submit my resume for a legal role at her company (also tech) basically doing contract and privacy work as well as other tasks relevant to my former work life. My current resume is full of litigation experience from law school, since my resume is written for applying to lit positions. On the one hand, it bolsters my legal experience. On the other, it’s not relevant to this role. Do I cut?
