Is anyone else starting at PwC in January? To those who are, do you know if you’re also receiving the comp adjustment the firm recently announced?

What do you mean? Do you mean you are starting in January, agreed to a base salary, and now you are wondering if they will surprise you with a higher salary than you just agreed to?

like

yes, u will get the increase. its effective 1/16/2022 so whatever ur salary is as of 1/15/2022 will increase by whatever % ur LOS announced. If u want to confirm just ask HR.

Do you know when the raise is effective? Given that they typically bring people in above market to poach them from other firms, your offer is likely already higher than your new peers so I would guess it’s unlikely.

like

Yes they just sent out emails to everyone because I’m sure everyone was emailing them asking the same question and were not accepting offers.

like

Yes 5%. I’m also anxious because I’m planning on taking 2 pto days in March but feel like people will be upset… I’ve had this trip planned for the longest.

Considering a contract to perm. Would be contract for 6 months. First time freelancing. 6 years experience. Job in NYC at a global brand. Would $130k be right to account for benefits? Less? More?

Will be in the market for a car in a month or so - narrowed down to Mazda CX 50 Turbo but the BMW X3 is only around $5k more compared to the Mazda Turbo trim I liked. Torn between these 2, would really appreciate any advice/insight in making this decision in regards to longterm ownership, rate of depreciation and maintenance.

Looking for feedback, I'm updating my resume and I'm wondering at what point should I start removing past work experience. I've heard anything older than 10 years should go?

Compliance question here, I have always thought of the SALT deduction on the fed return as a perm item & have treated as such in such sch M-3. I see that some people put it as a temp on sch M-3. What is the justification for treating it as a temp on the M-3. You don’t set up a deferred on the def RF for the state tax deduct & it is also a rate impacting item (I know that some temps can be rate impacting). But this all leaves me to side with perm. Does anyone know the logic behind temp treatment?
