I would appreciate if someone told me they weren’t interested. If you got on the interview and blew it, someone might remember that down the road. I would just tell them another opportunity came up and you’re no longer interested in pursuing that one
There's a valid point here that you don't want to waste their time
At the same time, it's a free case prep session for you and you need to look out for yourself when on the market
But OP says he's not a match for the firm so it's moot
I would say go ahead with the interview. When you know you are not interested in the position, you will be able to carry on a conversation in a very relaxed manner and can be yourself.

You did them a favor. As an interviewer I will appreciate if candidate says he/she is not a good fit, lets not waste time.
Nah cancel if you have no interest in it. No reason to waste your time or theirs.
People saying cancel it are out of their mind
This is your chance to conduct an interview in a very relaxed manner and see how you do? I did an interview like this just because i already had an offer in line. So i was pretty chill and honest. He apprexiated my honesty and gave me the offer and i accepted.
Cancel if it requires a ton of effort and eat up your time from other urgent priority things. Otherwise, attend and use them for free practice. If you get an offer, you’d also have extra leverage in negotiation for what you want
Did that but I actually framed it as I'm withdrawing my application entirely. I also had a family member get diagnosed with cancer leading up to it and was just not in the headspace to do it .. for a job that I was lukewarm on.
