Is consulting as advertised when it comes to career acceleration? Personally, I am starting to doubt it. It feels like the skill sets are a bit dated and the world has moved on. Also, we get put on so many random engagements it’s hard to build tangible skills. I am talking big 4, MBB is a different game.

Anyone know any companies or know of anyone that had no direct experience but was hired as a product manager? I have a background in marketing and some technical skills but I have no product experience. I want to pivot from marketing/operations to a product manager role.

As a product manager, i work with my engineering and design partners to figure out what to build and then build it. What role would a product owner play in all this?
