Any layoff expected in bny ?
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I would be worried financially but not for the firing itself…happens every day to someone
I’ve only been fired once (for applying to other jobs on the company computer lol), and it was the best time of my life. Met my now fiancé 3 days after getting fired, had an epic 4/20 celebration, and then received a job offer the next day for twice what I was making before getting fired. I miss those days ha
I hope they fire me lol
Fired = no severance, FYI. Laid off gets you severance. There is a difference.
It may hurt future job prospects if they ask why you left and you say you got fired for Xyz reasons
It won't be the end of the world, but it could cost you a dream job or money that would be difficult to recover from.
I wouldn’t be concerned beyond my own financial implications
Some employers ask about it in their application
