I made a calculation mistake in my cost analysis in my Deloitte partner case interview for new grad 2023 position. Another thing that bothers me was when they asked my approach I gave a pretty detailed answer and one of the interviewers was satisfied but the second didn’t get it and asked me to explain it thrice and some to and fro talk was there. Rest of it was pretty good and I nailed the implementation part and behavioural for sure. Do you guys think I still have a chance? Deloitte

Never forget: US CBP asks passengers arriving in the States whether they are terrorists.
Just say you’re on target. They can’t corroborate or check what you say
This is what I said. Lol

I’ve been asked that question at every interview. It’s not a red flag, but it is exactly what’s wrong with this industry.

OP I would just say you're on target

I ask that in almost every interview - not to be mean but to figure out where they are. Someone saying they did 1600 and that was normal at their firm needs to be told firmly that that is not the expectation here. Someone who tells me they do 2100 can be told that that is on average on the higher end and they should be good with the work pace they have.

I’ve been asked when I was moving from mid law to big law. It’s not a great question but I think is what it is - if you’re going to be expected to bill a lot they’re not trying to bait and switch you, they want to know you can and will handle it.
