Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

I am interviewing as a senior consultant at KPMG finance strategy and transformation in Switzerland
1) Any tips on case types and specific questions to prepare for?
2) can anyone provide insights into the type of work they do? I do know the basics, but would appreciate input from someone who works there KPMG

I can't even. Lol. Every time this topic comes up .
Yes I interview people and yes I draw some conclusions about their judgement based on the choices they make about how to present themselves . It matters no matter how much you personally wish it does not. Dress like a winner
It's not a fake version of me when I wore a wedding dress . It's not a fake version of me when I wore a swimsuit. It's not a fake version of me if I wear heels. They just are appropriate to different occasions .
East coast bad idea.
I'm at an interview now in jeans and a t shirt, I'll let you know how it goes...
Depends who you’re interviewing with but as a senior project manager I would say it’s fine.
I’m a creative, I don’t even have anything that’s not jeans. But I’d guess it’s partly on how uptight the agency is. Do a little snooping beforehand and see what the vibe is.
I think it's important to look like you dressed to create a great impression. Nobody is going to be put off by someone slaying it
I did in nyc but I always wore black jeans, heels and a businessy blouse/sweater. I’ve worked at the big agencies here and it’s totally acceptable as long as they’re dark and you look neat.
It’s very acceptable. I’ve worked at several different agencies in LA (not sure where you are) and have received job offers. You’re good dude 👍
It’s totally fine. As long as the rest of your outfit is on point.
I personally wouldn’t and never have. The closest is I’ve work solid black jeans and a black suit jacket and my jeans looked like suit pants. I’m in LA and a SPM.
I think if you look super put together, it’s fine. Dress them up a bit and you’re good. It’s better than walking in with a pant suit....
Agree with no for East Coast if it’s one of the bigger agencies👆🏼
I understand appropriate and inappropriate but I haven't had to dress up for work in 6 years so I was curious if I really need to go try to find dress pants and get them tailored or if we can all agree that we all wear jeans anyways and I'm not client facing so my pants don't really matter. Ya know what I mean?
Are you a man or a woman? You can wear very dark wash / indigo blue jeans or solid black jeans with a button down / blouse, dress shoes, (maybe) blazer and clean styled hair. Please have notebook and pen for taking notes and with your prepared questions ready, like you care and not just strolling in for a chat 😄
I love all these “I gotta be me” people. Be you, have a ball, if you are creative or senior enough it does not matter. If you are junior or not creative you need to make an effort. In many, many, many industries they no longer wear a suit every day- but you bet your ass they wear one to interview. OP, if pants are hard, buy a simple straight skirt, wear with nice top and flats. It’s not hard, and if you do not have a simple dark skirt it’s an investment: think funerals, interviews, baby showers, etc.
If you’re on the east cost or Chicago, hell no.
Update - recieved a offer!
I don’t want to work at a place that doesn’t want me to be myself. I wear jeans and t-shirts. For an interview I’d wear jeans and a button down.
^ Are you the OP? What happened to your title?
