Is it actually worth applying to jobs cold with no internal references or contacts? I haven’t had any luck with this thus far, but wondering if others have. Am I wasting my time with these applications? How do you go about applying to jobs?

My partner and I are moving out of our condo building in NYC at month end, and the building management (not our landlord) has communicated to us that, on top of the 1K non-refundable fee and 1K security deposit to move out (stated in lease), they are also issuing a $1,250 "sanitization fee" for the public areas (hallways/elevators), since we happen to be moving out during COVID19. We feel this is taking advantage of tenants during this time and may not be legal. Any advice helps!

If you relocated from California (LA) to Washington state (Seattle), what will be the compensation adjustment? Will it be significantly lesser as Seattle is a MCOL vs LA an HCOL? Also, will only the base be adjusted or bonus/RSUs as well?

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.
