Learnt from school always sent one
I appreciate when I get a thank you email. It doesn’t happen very often so it’s definitely something that makes a candidate stand out in a good way
Send it, but make it meaningful - reference part of the conversation you had, mention some additional research you’ve done since the discussion, thank the person for specific advice, etc

If you do it, don’t use AI. I cringe when I get those.
Definitely send it. It shows you care, and it does go above and beyond what everyone else might do
Talk to your recruiter on what the proper practice is and what expectations are. If you aren’t using one then I’d probably send one. It’s better to be courteous and safe than not do one and people thinking you don’t care.
