It's rare to be doing that well, and even rarer, and very silly, to feel bad about it.

Comparison is the thief of joy. You’re doing better than most, and not as well as a very select few. As long as you’re tracking against your goals, don’t let others’ situations get to you.
+1 SAM: I have a friend who’s NW is 8m+ but he’s so upset and feels he’s a failure cos all his cousins of same age are 20m+. And I’m like WTF 😬
You’re literally in the 99th percentile in the US, the richest country on earth 👍🏼
$4M puts OP in the top 3%~5% of US households.
Depending on the source being referenced,OP would need between $10M and $15M to break into the top 1%.

It will never end. I have friends worth $10m, who feel poor because their neighbors are worth $50m+.
I sometimes feel like I'm not doing enough either. It think it's common for low achievers like us when we compare ourselves to the big shots like Elon and Gates. With inflation and the cost of raising a kid these days, I don't think the 9 million we've saved and invested so far would be enough
