Talk about salaries.
Dude yes talk about your salaries
This is a generational thing and I’m an old timer who would never have discussed salaries and guess what, I’m embarrassingly underpaid so….
THIS! Right there with you, my friend.
Absolutely talk about salaries. But be careful not to fall into the trap of “same title meaning same experience. “ many agency titles carry a huge experience range. So once senior copywriter may have more experience than another. Therefore it’s reasonable that they wouldn’t necessarily be paid the same. Or get promoted at the same time.
Yes, talk about salaries, but as in prison, never, ever snitch. Don't ever go to your Manager saying "(specific person's name here) told me they make x salary, I make y, I want a raise." Because HR or that manager will go back to that specific person and reprimand them, since management doesn't want ppl talking about salaries.
"Your position has been terminated" will be their reason, and they don't have to give any details. Then they run an ad for the same position with a different title for that postion- but the same responsibilities.

Just be ready to accept that some people bring more value to the table then you

I don’t like to count other people’s money and it breeds resentment if everyone knows what everyone else is making.

Yeah, definitely. The only ones who don't want you to talk about salaries are your bosses.
Yes. Share your salary if they ask or even if you just know they are making a case for a raise.
If you Google “real agency salaries” it should serve up the google spreadsheet with data you can use, too.
I literally don’t care and will happily discuss my salary/finances with anyone who asks. There needs to be more transparency.
Only if you trust that the person you're having that discussion with isn't going to tell anyone else who gave them that information, or repeat what you've told them to management to try to get a raise.
