Hi There - I work for an organization that has retail locations. I had the team lead call me this morning (a Saturday) because he had to send a new employee home. The employee he sent home had a mental health episode shortly after arriving to work. The team lead had asked him to be on order taking duty to work on the new employee's customer service skills. The employee said he could not interact with people today and when pressed further started to cry and said he (new employee) felt like he wanted to hurt someone else or himself. The team lead had the new employee call someone to come pick him up.

My question is, has anyone else ever had to deal with a similar situation in the pas where an employee admits he could be a danger to himself or others?

I’ve been working for a small investment firm for about a year and am having some issues with my boss. We have a weekly check-in but he’s ALWAYS 2-3 hours late, or skips the meeting altogether without warning. He also never replies to any of the emails I send. I already spoke with him about these issues, but things haven’t really changed. I really like the work I do but I’m starting to feel frustrated about the situation. Any advice? Or anyone else in a similar situation?

I have a wee crush on one of the partners in my firm and I thought he liked me too, but neither of us did anything about it (which is entirely appropriate). That was all pre-Rona. Now I’m leaving the firm and pursuing another opportunity and staying in the same city. Since he’ll no longer be my boss, is there a way to find out if my feeling was correct? Used to be in a quant group. We had an underperforming staff who we let go. He claimed to HR he was discriminated against bc he was an MBA. To which they responded: that's not a protected class.

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

How do you deal with a boss that dislikes you? I haven’t received a single opportunity to work on a new project even though I’m doing all of my tasks on time and I’m doing them accurately. I have automated some reports and built a lot of reports from scratch. Yet my boss never communicated to me and doesn’t seem to value my opinions.

I'm done getting paid 1/3 of the class teacher pay and expected to teach the lessons. The other Paras in the class seem to think this is normal. I certainly don't get the same respect as the teacher. Am I alone here?

1st year. I have a decent amount of client email/phone interaction. One partner frequently asks me to communicate with clients, and the partner tells me to ask if I have any questions before emailing the client.

I almost always respond to the partner with my thoughts and ask partner whether P agrees with my thoughts, prior to emailing client. At what point should I be skipping that step and just email client? I’m worried about making a mistake, but most of the time P agrees with my “draft”

I couldn’t talk my partner out of buying a vintage watch. It’s a 1970s manual Vendome model that we got from Analog Shift in SoHo.
