Is it possible to move to core from USDC? Would you have to relocate? Has anyone ever done this or heard of someone who moved to core? Sick of working remotely and being paid less than others in core doing the same exact job as I am.

Absolutely possible! Need partner/ SM support! I did it, and know at least 5 other peers who did so too!
You do not need to relocate. Core has more emphasis on prd/ sales and networking. You might want to factor that in too!

Did your pay get adjusted?

If you put down the papers the first option you get is “ we will move you to core “. Couple of colleagues done it

I have not seen why any some cannot move to core ., I know atleast 20-30 people from USDC EP SAP who moved to core. You just need to talk to your project PPMD and USDC offering PPMD .. they won’t say no

Did they get their pay adjusted? Thanks

It’s possible , but you have to prove that you are worthy enough buy accomplishing few simple tasks like , going to Mars , living in the Moon for 28 days etc.

funny

Hey op
I was in usdc bad the option to transfer to core advisory but I was making more and working less than the team I was going to transfer to. compensation is variable depending on the group. Just my .02

helpful

You can with PPMD support but talent will tell you a million reasons why they can’t adjust your pay. Best option is to leave and boomerang back.

So we do pay based on location ^^^^ whoever kept saying yesterday that we don’t. Paying remote workers less for doing the same job is still paying based on location

D1 yes there's a cost of living adjustment depending where you are. However the adjustment is not always fair. I.e Deloitte considers Chicago and Boston to be the same col even though Boston is 30% more expensive.

Also D13 that's not true. I was usdc making alot now than my peers with the perks of also being remote. It varies a lot depending on the OP

Yeahhhhh from what my leadership has said it’s pretty much impossible. If anything they’re making more folks convert to USDC. I’m working with folks that we’re core and then converted to USDC last summer.

It rarely happens.

Hey OP it varies a lot around your project, leadership, and personal case but I did this as an analyst 2yoe last year. If you want to talk happy to. There is no magic trick but it is possible but not that common.

Usdc is a broken talent model mento to replace Indian outsourced workers. Gtfo of the company and boomerang back to core of new be

It is possible if your project PPMD is supporting..I saw quite a few getting converted from USDC to core in the last 2 months

Any Bridge Engineers/Structural Engineers in here? I got my PE this year and have 5 YOE in TX + an MS. What sort of raise would you expect for receiving your PE working in a consulting firm? I am EOR on a number of structures in development, I manage EITs and Drafters (within projects; I'm not a supervisor), and am doing a lot in general. I'm at 78k currently, which is apparently still in the upper range of EIT salaries per a job posting in CO. I'm thinking of 15% (5% merit, 10% PE). Any ideas?
