Is it really a bad time to move cross-country for a new job? I am worried about potential layoffs in consulting space too. I’d love to move back to CA but COVID-19 changed everything for me in 2020.

Anybody have any tips on how to go about the relocation conversation? I’m looking to move out of the city with our main office to a city with a much smaller office. With post-covid office culture I can’t imagine it’s that big of an ask. That said, I’m in a junior role and have been with the company for less than a year so I don’t know if this is a question I should really even ask at this time.

Outside counsel has been prepping company witnesses for a trial in August. It is my subject area so I am supervising outside counsel. I did not, however, choose the counsel. He is doing a really awful job. Co counsel is better, but not great either. Higher ups love the firm… I do not want to micromanage, but I have genuine concerns about outside counsel’s ability to try this case.
