Is it really a bad time to move cross-country for a new job? I am worried about potential layoffs in consulting space too. I’d love to move back to CA but COVID-19 changed everything for me in 2020.

Looking for advice on dealing with a boss who is extremely difficult to work for. For example, my colleague has worked entirely remotely since COVID hit in March. She had planned to make 2 trips out to her family out of state during the holidays (for Thanksgiving & Christmas) but recently requested to stay during the interim, when it looked like her apartment might be under voluntary evacuation due to wildfires. I keep getting surprised each month by our firm financial reports indicating we are relatively on track with our pre-Covid budget, while also watching our overall billable hour numbers for the year continue to go down. Does anyone feel they interview poorly because of their nerves, even if you prepare prior to the interview and find good examples of your skills and experience to match the role requirements? My nerves always get the best of me and I tend to ramble when I’m nervous. Looking for some honest opinions on a career in law: I have always wanted to be an attorney but I got married young and went the entrepreneur route as a software developer. However, now that I’m in my 30’s, I’ve started the last year of my undergrad and I’m strongly considering law school.

For those of you in the field, what would you tell someone in my position? Would you recommend law school? Would you do it again? Would you discourage it?
