I had an interview w/ the Hiring Manager at Boston Consulting Group for a position and it went so well that the HM said on the spot I was going to be moving onto the next round. Its been weeks since that interview & I've had to follow up w/ the recruiter 3x asking for an update. I mentioned interviewing elsewhere but prioritizing BCG. He finally responded to that saying he was going to debrief with the HM and get back to me but nothing... what gives?

Hi Fishes,
Anyone here at Luxoft with permanent remote ? I got an offer. Will they ask to come to office at any point ? What about job security at Luxoft ? HR mentioned 8 hours per day and no need to enter timesheet, time will be auto captured. That means like we can't be away from the system at all ? Please help.
Thanks

I would not call what you see online an exaggeration be prepared to have no life Monday through Friday.
I have life thursday and friday nights and weekends
What people say online is not much of an exaggeration. As an associate I work until my manager says I’m allowed to go to bed, when staffed it will generally be poorly scoped since partners are money hungry and don’t push back so don’t EVER expect any time during the day to be protected any day of the work week. Please go anywhere else but here.
someone needs to check in with LEK to make sure they're all okay, it looks like an associate or two was inappropriately granted fishbowl posting privileges (and this should be rectified immediately)
I honestly haven’t read anything on this app that is demonstrably false about LEK - the stories you hear are mostly true and align with my experience here.
Ex-LEK here… it is mostly true with slight exaggeration here and there. I would say 90-95% of what you read is true.
There’s definitely some truth to what’s on fishbowl but a fair amount is exaggerated
If you’re a decent modeler the AC role should be a fairly straight forward transition.
There’s a pretty steep learning curve to the C role but you’ve got more control over your (and the teams) WLB. A lot of the horror stories on here stem from an inexperienced C running their case.
Pro
If the majority of horror stories come from the inexperienced then that speaks to the culture of the company and how they treat the inexperienced. Especially in an entry level position with no real way to simulate the experience before getting hired and actually doing the job.
I left LEK and never looked back. I just wish I could save my friends who are still suffering over there. I keep in touch with a lot of them over there and sounds like while it’s improved from rock bottom, MDs don’t seem to care about improving culture and it’s barely recovered at all. The firm hemorrhaged its top talent and the good ones remaining are trying to leave.
If you choose to believe the people who say posts on here are exaggerated, well consider they’re employed there and are likely contributors to the toxic and gaslighting culture. I saw when I was there a lot of MDs and HR posing on here to counter the posts about the firm and spread false PR.
I’ve no incentive to say good or bad about the firm, just share my objective experience relative to other consulting (previously Big 4 strategy, now Accenture Strategy) so I’m simply comparing it to these two companies. Great people, I learned a ton and know diligence better than anyone in my practice, and I find ACN hours to be comical in comparison so LEK has its pros. There was just a very steep price to pay.
Good luck OP
I used to work at LEK and 2am and 3am were definitely the norm (at least in my experience). Place is toxic as hell. Avoid unless you are headed to the unemployment line.
Better or worse than KPMG strategy?
Worse and it’s not even close. Also, if you are at KPMG you will get chewed up at LEK.
Thank you all for the guidance. The recruiter keeps pushing the “$30k bonus and 20% profit sharing”. I assume this is the max, but does anyone know the average bonus associate consultants receive? I make the same base now so if the bonus isn’t that significant I don’t feel like it would be a worthwhile move.
Did you ask this OP?
