If you can't get MBB undergrad, try lateral, all firms hire laterals very frequently nowadays. MBA isnt worth it if the sole purpose is to get into MBB.
Lets keep it 100, the point of getting into MBB is for career opportunities which is ultimately for financial freedom, it's not for some bs fulfilment or solve big problems. Why would you set yourself back $200k + 2 years salary to try achieve financial freedom.
Only scenario where MBA makes sense is if your undergrad profile and work exp is really bad and gets instantly dinged in screening.

Umm I’m here to solve big, impactful problems and didn’t pay $200k+ for the privilege to do it
Worked out incredibly for me. I don’t know that I ever expected to make this much money and have this much freedom on how to do it. There’s other ways to get the same money but consulting is a safe, reasonably predictable way to get there. Not for everyone of course, but the hours don’t stay terrible forever and ultimately 8-10 years push to get to 10/20 years of 1.5m plus income at reasonable pace seems fine as a trade off to me.
No mandatory retirement age
You can have a fulfilling career because what matters is how you see what that fulfilling career looks like not how other people define success. Everyone has their own story!

There are billions of successful people in this world that never were in consulting, much less MBB
Currently at MBB and having a lot of second thoughts. I’m very grateful for the opportunity, but the long hours and high pressure environment may not be worth it to me. I think it depends on the person and their priorities. Also, I don’t think MBB is really that different from other firms based on conversations with friends, so my comment probably applies to consulting more broadly

Yep. Try tech, healthcare, etc

Worth it but obviously not the only path to success or fulfillment
It's great but definitely not necessary
The same question can be asked for B4. The perspective on its “worth” is all relative to you and what you want to seek out from a professional and personal life.
