You’re being a bit dramatic. Just calm down a bit and figure out what you want. You still have a lot of exit opportunities with experience from a mid tier.
Not at all. It's a well-known and reputable firm that can open a lot of doors in its own regard, and you can always pivot to Big 4, who love recruiting Moss alum.
The B4 arrogance from comments like PWC1 is just embarrassing. Not being in B4 is a choice for many people. I was B4 for over a decade. Now at MA. Hands down better work/life and culture. They can match and beat B4 comps if your position is desirable enough. Benefits may lack a bit, but not really a dealbreaker. Opportunities are different as they serve different markets and both have their pros and cons. B4 carry the brand name, but MA is hardly a career killer. Also, pretty much anyone in Top 20 tax or audit can likely get a B4 offer if they were to try.
Why would it be a career killer? You’ll still learn a lot in a midsized firm.
Moss Adams is a great firm and honestly makes mid sized firms very attractive compared to the bigger ones
Who is Moss Adams?
Ah. Appreciate you clarifying.
Probably depends on where you want your career to go. In general, no. Comp wise, can be comparable to B4 through SM. B4 partners probably make more.

I was at Moss Adams and left for the same reasons you are, B4 is great experience for exit opps but it is horrible compared to the culture at Moss Adams, DM me for more info
Ya I actually reached out to my old mentor from Moss to possibly come back so I’m in the process of making that decision, trust me don’t fall for the B4 lights
I think it depends what you ultimately want to do in your career. It’s certainly not a career killer - accountants are always employable! But if you’re trying to be a Controller at a public company, for example, you’d likely have better luck jumping there from Big4.
It depends on your career goals but from experience, big 4 is great for exit opportunities due to their reputation. DM for referral or more info.
Can i dm for pwc referral?
Chief
Depends on your career goals. If you’re happy staying where you are for your entire career, no need to go to B4.
B4 is just good for giving you options for next steps
Comp is probably better at B4 too. I come from Deloitte and our benefits were incredible compared to those of smaller firms
Thank you so much for the insight, much appreciated
Discuss it with your wife first
Weird assumption to make…
I’m actually trying to get in at MA from my current firm which funny enough I consider a career killer haha. My specific firm location only audits k-12 districts and I feel pigeon holed already. Plus MA is considered a top west coast firm which I love bc idc about national or big 4. Anyone work at MA who can share their experience particularly CA?
