Hi guys ,
I am in a US project in Accenture. We have long calls in the night timings. My other teammate has backed out saying she won't attend any calls as she got some medical condition so she won't attend long calls which extend till 9:30.Other teammate is a junior. The managers are expecting me to join all the calls. No help I am getting. And they all being Tamil, I think some partiality is going on between them.Even our onsite lead is of no use.She expects me to attend long calls.
What should I do .pls suggest?

Does it personally matter to you? If you’re making 300k and not managing people I would consider that a win

^ I’d agree there. Little responsibility and still making good money? Who cares? Other than you’re going to get pegged into the individual contributor bucket, but if that doesn’t matter then 🤷♂️

I don't think it's uncommon for SMEs to be passed over for promotion, unfortunately. There's a perception that technical folks will be content in a stable role without comp adjustment or promotion, unfortunately.

Until they see their best talent leaving and trying to figure out how many pizza parties it will take to meet retention goals.
I mean if you’re at 300K now just stay at that job for 2 years and it will look fine

I’m not talking about promotion to manager. I mean I’ve literally never gotten a promotion outside of switching jobs. Even after 3 years at one place I was passed over.
It means they failed to appreciate you before you went on to do better for yourself
Same here I’m at 6 YOE and also at 300k. Hoped every 1-2 years. Data science/ quant work is the way to go. I think I’ll be at 450 by 10 YOE just need to decide if I want to switch now to a remote tech job or try to be banking executive.
The term data science can be used broadly like some data analysts call themselves data scientists but real data science and quantitative modeling work will never go away especially for certain areas which are under a lot of regulatory scrutiny and where you need to be able to defend the models you develop when something goes wrong by using theory. Tools such those by H2O.ai automate a lot of work for model development and stuff but it still needs someone with a strong technical background to understand and write up the accompanying documentation for it
It sounds like you just aren’t waiting out their promotion
I see no issue
I wonder this too, as someone who’s on their 3rd role I’m trying to stick this one thru to get the promo and then I’ll probs bounce ahah
Yeahh my friends who also hop around mostly make around 50-100% of what others who have stayed in one place make in their same fields
