This article recommends getting tested to guide treatment but tbh most healthcare practitioners in the field that I have gone to as a patient have told me something I generally agree with, which is that it doesn't really make a difference. Unless you are ill for longer than expected or are experiencing unusually severe symptoms, just take care of yourself at home with sleep, nutrition, vitamins and OTC medicine if you really need to.
