For those in AM: thoughts on CAIA, CIPM, etc?? I was wondering if these will actually help vs. just waste of money.
Does anyone here hold a non-CFA designation (CFP, CAIA, FRM etc.) and what kind of role/position do you have?
Any value to the CAIA?
Hi 🐠, question on CFA / CAIA- are either worth pursuing if you want to “up” your professional bonafides? I don’t come from a background in finance, but work primarily w/ PEGs like so many of us.
Is CFA and CAIA certifications helpful for a career in Real Estate Private Equity/Development?
Thoughts on CAIA? Difficulty, hours studied, study tips, overall experiences, etc.? I’ll be sitting for Level 1 in September. Currently work in the fund of funds space - moving over to my firm’s hedge fund research team soon so CAIA seemed like a perfect way to get knowledge in the area beforehand. I’m almost one year out of undergrad (econ background) so a lot of the CAIA content is new to me
Just got a scholarship to take the CAIA L1 in March 2021. Anyone taken it and can offer advice on how to prepare?

My 2.5 yo flew w/ me to work, hung out with fam during the day, we both got upgraded to 1st. 2.5 went home with no status daddy. They boarded first (car seat), and 2.5 yo walked straight to row 2 😂
Why is S&O typically more highly regarded when compared to other branches of consulting?
Question for Strategy senior managers and managers (esp. those in the Partner pipeline) - have your mentors / coaches / advisers shared the following stat with you (see next post for details):
first week on a commercial/travel project and had a mini panic attack. No fires, but nervous I won’t adjust to this/I’m not cut out for it. Just a steep learning curve or a massive red flag?
Is WMP a managment consulting firm?
To my fellow consultants @deloitte. Do most y’all end up working 50 hours average in a week or is it just me? Asking for a friend here....it’s my first deloitte project
How do I handle jaded and cynical comments/people? I always hear demeaning things about how consulting is a sweatshop or how I’ll realize I’m just wasting my life working as a resource for an organization that doesn’t care about me. This makes me question my own beliefs and reality. How much truth are in these statements when I can negatively spin it for any profession and career?
I have ~250k cash saved up from my consulting career. It’s been in cash this whole time. How to start investing?

I’m slowly starting to think that the plan to resume travel in 2021 is also at risk... am I being overly pessimistic?
Question for career Project/Program Managers: is anything can be called a "project" and treated like one? Isn't a "project" defined as achieving a concrete outcome within certain timelines? I am often staffed as PMO on engagements that aren't "projects" per se, just a collection of various day-to-day activities performed by people as part of their "regular" jobs. I am then asked to produce Project Plans, Risk/Issues logs, status updates, etc. Is this normal?
I’m leaving my firm and my team wants me to set up calls with leadership to make sure I’m making the right move for my career and if there’s anything they could do to make me stay. This is hard enough, why do this?
