I gave an interview in Accenture and the manager wants me to move to Hyderabad, but I'm comfortable with the Kolkata location. I've cleared two rounds and now the Hyd manager is telling me that if I move to Hyd otherwise they will not proceed with my application any further. Can anyone suggest to me what can be done here?

I don't believe WLB is bad relative to consulting industry as a whole here. I've been with multiple firms before and ZS is pretty good. Yes you may have late or early calls due to India partners, but people are overall kind and respectful of your time. You can take on every task ever and work 80 hour weeks, or you can do excellently at your core projects and select BD/initiatives and work 50 hour weeks. The people who choose to make WLB a living hell burn themselves out and don't necessarily progress faster or succeed long-term.
In terms of a two week vacation - I have no idea what you're talking about. We have some time off between Xmas and New Years. It's not two weeks.
^^ what ZS1 said
To reinforce, you really do have the ability to shape your own WLB, and most teams encourage you to do so. It’s probably not as good as WLB in industry, but it is pretty darn good compared to the whole of consulting.
For the Xmas break, this year we get...
a half day off on Christmas eve
the full day off on Christmas
two full days off the following week
half a day off on NYE
the full day off on New Year’s Day
Most people take the extra day or two of vacation and make it a full two weeks
It may just be my teams but honestly I’ve basically had that “Winter Break” all three years (we get 1.5 weeks off from firm then you can basically make it two weeks by taking a day or two of vacation). Also for anyone who says this doesn’t “exist” I’m sure they’re working very minimal hours during this time since all of our clients are usually OOO as well (with few exceptions being the try hard / gunners ZS1 mentioned)
Overall, WLB has been outstanding for me (less than 50 hours per week), that being said the more interesting work / spaces (Pipeline and Launch strategy, PE, etc) can be heavier workload
This! I'm in one of those interesting spaces and I work around 60 hours/week, but it's been worth it for now, and it's nice to know I could switch teams for better WLB if I wanted to down the line
Also, is the 2 week winter break a real thing? What’s the deal with time off around the holidays?
