Is there a big difference between working at a call center and a smaller company? Why would you pick one over the other?

If there is no difference in payment, I prefer a small company. It's less stressful, let's say it's a little easier to take care of them.

I definitely feel like my manager cares more now that I switched over to a smaller company

I would choose the small company, usually, the problems are less and the organization of the customer service agents is much better than in large companies.

I like big companies more, you have many more opportunities to grow.

This must be put on a scale because I feel that a small company learns to dominate the type of client faster, this is because normally the smaller the companies, the fewer the products or services and you already know more or less where a call or an email when talking to a customer.

Typically, call centers have more structured roles and guidelines for their employees, while smaller companies are often more flexible with their employees' tasks and hours. With how stressful is working in customer service already, flexibility is a must for me, so I prefer working in small companies

The primary difference is that call centers have more procedures and protocols to follow to ensure customer satisfaction, which is very frustrating for employees. I'm not sure, but I think there is a significant difference in salary as well

I've worked in a few, and I actually prefer the bigger ones. They have really detailed instructions for what to say to people who call, and they don't expect you to already know everything about a product, they will train you.

Smaller companies are usually more flexible with schedules, while large corporations are more likely to be especially stringent about the specific hours you have to work. So if you are looking for flexibility (which I have to, as a mom of two children who can sometimes get sick) then smaller companies are often better.

For me, it's a bigger concern whether I like the people I'm working with. I have had a LOT of jobs over the years for companies large and small, and the biggest indication of whether something is a good job or not (at least for me) is who I see and talk to on a regular basis. Especially my direct supervisor, because some of them are unreasonable and will never be satisfied
