Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
Deloitte vs Google vs Meta? Got offers this week from Google & Meta but currently at Deloitte and happy here. Seeing a lot of people complain about Google being not as great as people make it seem, lack of growth, company being cheap, lack of perks outside of HQ. And with Meta the role is just uninteresting. Thoughts on either or just staying? Google Facebook (Meta)

No. Dress like you want the job. For some it may be overkill but unless you’re wearing a tuxedo or something weird, nobody is going to call you out for being overdressed.

I do a lot of interviews; I haven’t seen a tie in 18 months

No one will ding you for being overdressed for an interview. That being said, more likely than not your tie won’t matter in the decision room.
Probably depends on the company and role, but I’d probably say that it’s not necessary
I think it’ll show well
I’ve just been wearing a shirt and jacket with a nice pocket square.
Ask in the HR bowl; they will know best what the most current interview etiquette looks like.
Some people may be bothered that it’s missing, but no one will be annoyed that it’s there.

Put on a nice sports jacket and a nice shirt. Skip the tie - it’ll make you look like someone who’s pretty tightly wound. I find it rather off-putting, feels like someone is trying too hard.
