PwC partner here - our intention is this is permanent. My belief is that it is in fact permanent. I hope this is enough to help you make a decision to join us. We would love to have you. PwC is a pioneer in this space.
I’m glad to hear this. While certain work did require collaboration. I had many “heads down, sleeves up” days where I was just working in excel. I’d much rather save the time commuting and have work papers ready for review faster. Also I find share screen a fantastic method for someone to walk me through their work versus hunching over a computer screen.
Just until 6/30/22 when the plan can be reassessed.
AKA scrapped
They will follow the other Big 4. Practically speaking it is unlikely the other Big 4 will mandate people come in between now and next summer, so really no different from PwC. If going back into the office becomes the norm again at other firms, it’ll happen at PwC too.
Rising Star
I wouldn’t say never. There are smaller 100% remote PA firms right now.

There's no such thing as forever as PwC. It will last until the next "REALIGNMENT" or "WORK MY WAY 2.0".
Pwc, I’m thinking about joining your firm. Do you have to go to the office at all or not at all? And did they say if after 6/20/2022 u may have to go back
I’m sure they can work from home, just not 100% remote. As a partner it’s expected that you are in the office sometimes as part of the leadership of your practice and in your market serving your clients.
new hire: I already was told that fully remote option will not benefit me... and also, I have to be on the Client's side half of the week 🤔 (during the busy season). And, I have to come to the office few times a week to meet a team, that remote option is not an option...
Likely works to your advantage- very hard to develop at home. Have to take ownership of your career.
Who told you that? Your team? Because they of course would be biased
