Anyone have experience working CWX side of Facebook (Meta) ? These are the full time contract roles that potentially turn into permanent roles directly with Facebook (Meta). Had a recruiter reach out and offering me comparable TC and such, just curious if anyone has experience in these roles and success/failure of transitioning into permanent role. Thanks in advance!

I was at S& and now I’m at BCG - I can say that, without a doubt, WLB is worse at S&. Not necessarily due to any difference in the nature of the work, but because senior leaders at S& don’t give af about your WLB and there’s no mechanism to force them to
I’ve been here almost 2 years. In my opinion our WLB varies highly from group to group (and really from project to project). I’ve had projects where I averaged 50hrs per week, and others where working til midnight and having weekend work was the norm. I do think we lack a formal way to hold engagement leaders accountable for keeping WLB reasonable, which worsens the variability.
When talking with my friends at other firms (MBB and other T2) I think on average our hours are similar...wherever you go you’ll see projects with crazy hours - just nature of the industry.
It depends on how you define wlb. Is it purely the number of hours worked, or is it about separating work time from everything else? We work on average ~60 hours per week, which might be more than many other firms, but we are supposed to be out of the office by 6:00 two days out of the week, and the weekends are very protected. Allows more recharging than having to constantly check emails when not in the office.
Strategy& has the worst WLB in the industry. Hands down.
We’re not complete 💩 at managing WLB, Accenture 1
My life is pretty good. Average 50 hours or less
How???
Bc we are part of PwC, if you are on a cross-staffed project, your WLB is amazing. If you are on a pure S& project, it’s worse. Agree that it varies highly from group to group, but there is opportunity to work less hours.
It really depends on the project.
1) Weekly hours: There are some projects that have quick turn around ie a few weeks. Then there are other projects where you can plan and manage the weekly hours much better. It’s really about how well you set expectations with the client and internal leadership
2) time off: I have always been able to take days off (except for twice) over many years, sometimes at very short notice. The teams and leaders I work with truly care about my personal needs and are flexible when I need to be away from work.
3) maternity/ paternity: S& has excellent policies for this. 6 weeks of paternity leaves that expires within a year of the baby joining the family. This is another way the firm encourages its employees to have a balance. I personally know many people (even at senior levels) take this break.
