How are they selling products in "shady ways"? I'd be curious to know more about what's going on - that could help us help you more.
Sure. I had the displeasure of attending another call related to this recurring issue. It seems that there are many agents out there who randomly call customers and hope that they take the bite out of the sales pitch. Unfortunately, it's full of misinformation most of the time. Once the customers get the requested service and look at the bill, that's when they realize it was a scam because it's not even close to what was discussed in the interaction. You can argue that the customer should've fully read the terms, but there are other companies out there that can still honor what the salesman said if they find out that the offer is totally different than what was given as an expectation. It's insane that the calls are recorded and no one bothers to evaluate them until the customer threatens to sue.
Report them to whatever the top law enforcement agency is at your location. If you're in the US, try your State Attorney General. They tend not to play with stuff like this.
Legit ask, why would you want to stay in a company that engages in this kind of business practice?
One of my co-workers had an email exchange with someone who couldn't find their receipt for Warranty and started going on about legality/shadiness of us not being able to track sales made by the retailer who sold our product. In the email, they explained they paid cash years ago and were appalled by the fact that the salesperson could not find a record of the sale in their system and jumped to the conclusion that the person just pocketed the cash. They mentioned how their client is a police officer and that it's unethical for us to not track the sales of someone selling our stuff.
