You don't have to say anything
Never tell your job you have an exit strategy
What's so bad about saying it's an MBA? I think most of us have realized client-side practically requires it after a certain point if you're looking to stay in marketing
It would not be an MBA- it would be in the realm of Occupational Therapy. So saying it's an MBA would try to cover that I'm working on an exit strategy.
I don't understand why it has to be a secret?
If it works, just say it'd a growth strategy, not an exit strategy. Connect the dots if they don't get it. Exit when the growth strategy requires you to "exit" your existing company
But if you have a supportive manager, I don’t see why you wouldn’t just share with him/her. But if you’re concerned for your job, I’d understand why you’d want to keep it quiet
Definitely don’t say it’s an MBA if it’s not. But agreed just say you’re getting your masters, most people don’t care to ask in what. If they do then just say it, and that it’s a passion of yours or whatevr. No one will connect the dots if you play it off right.
Nobody's going to fire you because you are in school. Most people do quit jobs, no manager expects you to stay there until retirement. So I don't see any reason to lie, obfuscate, misdirect, or whatever. If you really don't want people to know the subject, you could say it is something completely unrelated. (Former GSW)
Mmmmm then that’s walking a lie if you say it’s MBA and for OT. I get what you’re worried about. That’s tough - any chance you could just say you’re going pursuing further education but just not talk about the specifics?
Why do you need to tell anyone? I wouldn't say anything.
