I’ve been a video investment associate for about a year now, and admittedly my workload over the past year has been minimal. I had the same thinking as you at first, but then as time went on I realized no one on my team was actually too busy, they were just good at making it look like they were. Unless your client has a ton of brands in flight, you probably won’t be too busy and will have a lot of down time during your days. Every account varies but most tasks are routine (like requesting/sending reports, updating charts, etc., on a weekly basis), and once you get that down it really becomes a breeze. One piece of advice I’d give if your just starting out in the industry and still learning, definitely ask questions and practice things you don’t feel comfortable doing in your down time. I knew nothing coming into it and I felt like it was harder and just took longer overall to learn a lot of things since there wasn’t much to do and I’d have so much down time in between tasks. Hands on experience is important in learning what you’re doing so definitely make sure you work on areas you don’t feel comfortable in during your down time because before you know it you’ll be 6 months in and expected to do something you’ve really only done a couple of times with the help of others before. With all that being said, I’d say just enjoy the process of not having too much work to do lol. It really is a nice “problem” to have.
