I've been thinking about transitioning from state to federal government. Has anyone here done that? What are the major differences I should prepare for?

As a first time PM at a company with no PM structure, I’m finding it difficult to learn good practices and bring myself to “the next level”. Has anyone here had a similar self taught start that made the break through to become a solid senior PM? Anything will help, books, etc.

What are good exit opportunities that exist for someone who has worked 1 yr as an analyst at a boutique firm?

I was just talking to a younger friend who goes to Cal and It seems like the kids these days hate FAANG or at least Amazon and Facebook are not desired at all. Journalism is the best job in the world but I feel like people are less likely to take my work seriously because I am female. Let’s talk suits. Do you have any thoughts on a junior associate wearing an expensive suit or a suit that departs from the norm (eg subtle pinstripe navy suit, or a suit with larger lapels/peaked lapels?).
