I’ve been working as a legal assistant for a year now, but I do have a paralegal certificate. After getting my paralegal cert, I was turned down for paralegal positions and told to get legal asst. experience first. Now that I have some legal asst. experience, I can’t find open positions for entry level paralegals since I have no experience working as a paralegal.

My current firm also never ever promotes legal assistants to paralegal.

Any advice as to how I might find work as a paralegal?

Side hustle or startup ideas for someone who isn’t technical/doesn’t code? Where should I look or where to begin? I don’t have any strong passions or specific skills that I’m confident in. What books, articles, blogs, orgs, events, people I should follow for inspiration that has helped you? I have some cash to invest and am looking for a part time hustle that can cash flow at least a little bit of money on the side.
