I was having issues which turned out to be low wifi quality in my office. Got a wifi extender which fixed my issue. If you're far from the router that could do the trick.
I've never heard of this, but I think this would be something valid to bing up for sure. What internet provider do you have ?
I have AT&T. I wish I could get a different provider but they are the only ones for my zone but I can improve my plan, but it's so much more.
So I don't think that this is an actual thing yet, but I think you should bring it up with your manager because if we need better internet for our zoom meetings it shouldn't be coming out of our pocket.
Nor should you have to. Hopefully it’s something they can help with either now or in the near future.
I’ve definitely heard of some companies doing this.
Google reimburses up to $75/month for WFH internet. I understand how some companies don't or won't want to pay for this, but IMO it's required for an employee to do their job.
It's like asking employees to drive to see customers, to bring in revenue for the company, but must pay for their own gas..
It can't hurt to ask. My company paid for a better router last year.
Yes - I know lots of companies have started offering this
I've been having Zoom issues recently and I finally discovered that it was a Windows update gone wrong. Windows is no longer recognizing any new headsets plugged in via the normal audio port. I had to give in and go Bluetooth which is something I had been putting off forever.
Hmm good tip
Glassdoor added $50/mo for internet when Covid started. Made it easier to switch to fiber when twisted pair maxed out with kids on Zoom too...
Maybe bring this up on here in your own company's bowl, rally support?
Mine does
