I work at a preschool that redirects disruptive students by giving them a book to calm down and regroup. Do you think this is a good practice or does it ultimately lead the student to see reading as punishment?
The worst thing is being “voluntold”. Partners : “Hey, how do you feel about volunteering to lead this? I think you would be great “ Me: “I don’t have the bandwidth to lead that event” Partner : “Let me clarify, you are leading this event, please book a meeting on my calendar.”
Looking for an art partner to come in at the ACD or what my agency calls “group art supervisor” level. Fair warning: it’s pharma, but business is really healthy and leadership usually fights really hard for creative that doesn’t involve couples strolling down the shoreline hand-in-hand :) Hit me with your book if interested
Does anyone have recommendations for self-improvement books written by Asians/Asian-Americans? By self-improvement, I mean any book that has caused you to reflect or positively impacted your life to include philosophy or leadership.

First time managing a team - any useful books /frameworks that you have stumbled across in developing leadership skills? There's so many out there that I'm not sure where to start.
What’s a book you’ve read that made you a better CD. Books on creativity, mentorship, leadership, etc. I want this thread to be a resource for everyone.

I lead a team of women (ranging from 2-8 years into their careers) and want to advocate for their career growth with management. I’ve made the case for promotions and raises (have been pushing for this for months and keep being told “soon”—but I won’t give up), but I also want to try smaller asks and would love suggestions. Are there any books, one-off classes/trainings, virtual events, memberships, etc. that you’d recommend? Thank you!
Trying to level up my on strategic thinking skills. What books, podcasts or other learning sources would you recommend? Is there a boom that catalogs successful strategic plays by companies/ leaders?

@PwC is there a WBS code to book time for IT issues? I bet the numbers are scary to leadership and could easily justify getting everyone a better machine e.g. MacBooks than those inferior Dells/HP
Hey guys, question regarding new years resolutions. Anyone know some good books about how to lead better and step up to become a great CD?
Hey everyone! I’m having a bit of trouble and I wanted to know if I can get some guidance. I have been on the same project for four years now and I’m doing great job. I’ve gone up in the ranks and now I am the clients right hand person. However in talking with my people manager, he wants to discuss where I plan on going in my career. And honestly, I haven’t really thought about it. I have always been raised to just do my job and go home. And honestly I’m fine with that. But when it comes to 1/2
What should you do when someone calls you out in front of client for not having done something yet, you message them privately that you don’t appreciate that, and then they gaslight you by saying that you’re too sensitive and it affects the working relationship?
Hey Big 4/ PA fish, when you write financial statements and footnotes for a company (technical accounting work), do you use PDF or word?
I have received offer from Accenture. They have provided ~50% hike fixed to fixed. And also provided 15% joining bonus. Is there any capping of the bonus percentage? Also, what is the max salary limit for level 9 in Bangalore? Asking since I have to refund retention bonus. Joining as Splunk Admin.
Starting a discussion about a promotion and pu bump. I have done was asked by my old boss and had an underperforming direct report. I still accomplished my tasks and helped our corporate team particularly with data analysis for most of last year, and working with a new boss. My new boss seems hesitant about promoting another person in my team. How can I make a strong case without making the aforementioned barriers seems like excuses?
I feel like most FAANG companies exist solely to sell our information - surprised that so many of you would want to work for one of these places....
I’m a C with a salary in the mid 80’s and up for promotion. I feel this is pretty low compared to my peers. Is it likely that I will have a higher salary increase than my peers?
Just got my H1B extension approved. If I decide to switch firm, can I go abroad (where h1b stamping is open) to get my visa stamped between the time I quit my current firm and join a new employer? Or do I need to be employed at the time of visa stamping? Are there any risks in doing this?
Been with my current company just under 6 months and about to put in my notice because I received an Offer in Product Management that was an absolute dream role and company. Any advice for my convo with my Manager later this morning? She’s been nothing but supportive during my tenure and I know I’m leaving them in a bad spot considering I was about to start a new project next week and we already had a super lean team to begin with and no bench.
What options do I have to leave my current job? - L1-A status (so tied to this job/company) - H1-B approved, but not used yet - I-140 approved - I-485 receipt notice received, no biometrics, AP or EAD yet My job is mentally affecting me and I'm literally sick everyday. I know the right answer is the stick it out since I'm so close, but any other creative alternatives?
I’ve been feeling really down about my job lately. Last night I randomly applied for a job at EY-P that I thought I perfectly fit the bill for. Within 12 hours I was reached out from a recruiter and was asked to schedule an interview. Even if it doesn’t go much farther It feels like the confidence boost I needed to know there are other options out there for me.
Need ethics/moral help from my fellow 🐟 I got laid off from ACN earlier this year. I accepted an offer and started at a boutique consulting firm exactly one month ago today. This morning, I got an email from Deloitte recruiting for the same position I’m in now, which is where I want to develop my career. Part of me wants a break from the big consulting firms, but at the same time, going to a Big 4 would feel more at home to me. Is it worth entertaining the offer, or should I just stay away?
The narrative has changed: from being panned for his response to coronavirus, to becoming the "American hero who beat the virus", and "will MAGA", since he dealt with it "personally". "I got Covid" was a hoax that democrats will regret believing in when the traitor wins the 2nd term: Trump's campaign claims his bout with COVID will help him beat Biden
