May I know what is the notice period if one resigns in infy during the first 6 months of joining? I am a lateral resource and they hired me in June, but they have no projects related to my tech and want me to take weird roles.. seems they are hiring to increase employee count and cross training most. just looking for options..

I am ADHD and I’m a few months into my first position - the feedback on my quality of work is amazing, and I’ve already proved the value I can provide for the team. My immediate team is helpful and aware but despite my level of output, I think I come off to upper management as inconsistent, tardy, and scattered (have had a burnout, and ADHD paralysis + other symptoms can be interpreted that way). I’ve asked for any advice on how to navigate my ADHD within the workplace but haven’t really heard back - I would appreciate tips & tricks for sure!
I was diagnosed with ADHD and Autism last year. I’m pretty senior in the company. I also have at least one neurodiverse member of my team.
I’m experimenting with telling people at work, and it’s a MOSTLY good experience so far. We as a business aren’t great at supporting neurodiversity, but they are trying, which counts for something.
A key observation I’ll make is that more experience and seniority correlates with better capability to handle and support diversity. The mid and junior level managers are struggling with how to lead on principal instead of personal experience. This seems to be the next big thing from training perspective for the biz.
The topic of meds is terrifying from a career perspective. My blend of ADHD and ASD have given me certain superpowers that make me a really strong performer (both individually and as a leader). I’m curious to see how changes to how my brain works might bring more happiness and contentment, but at what cost?
If you pass on anything, focus on the neurotypicals. Help them understand that value and contribution doesn’t come from conformity. Help managers understand that some people need different support in processing information and that being able to learn like other people is not a strong indicator for being able to perform well in a role.
Bonus points if you can help the business understand that the equity vs equality discussion should apply to scope and remit of a job title too. IOW: can a neurodiverse individual add equal value to the business without being hot-swappable with others of the same title?
Huh? What? Mmm
“What was that, sorry” tends to be my go to 😂
If not a native condition we are all subject to constant distractions from our phones, media, tV, social media, slack, Skype, email, zoom… I never had it clinically but I struggle to focus for sure now.
This is absolutely something we all struggle with and can probably work together to try and help each other with!
The big but is that for people with ADHD, it’s not just the lack of attention/trouble focusing - there’s sensory issues, subjection to overstimulation, the super personal decision to take meds or not, a lot of ADHD folks have overlap with learning disabilities, etc. it’s a well that runs deep and feels like everyone seems to be suffering through it silently!!! ☹️
