I’ve recently accepted an offer from Oracle Cloud as a Technology Sales Rep in Canada and just saw the news today that Oracle laid off quite a few people from Oracle Customer Experience. My last working day at my current company is Friday and I’m getting mini jitters with this news. My recruiter and hiring manager both assured me that I’m safe and that the layoffs won’t affect Canada hiring. But I’m still a little nervous. Thoughts?

I accepted an offer from Cognizant for a consultant position a little less than a month ago. My joining date is 5th September and I would need visa sponsorship. I am so tired of it all. I’ve barely eaten in the last 3 days and had to take a painkiller last night to fall asleep. I’m so overworked and I constantly feel like a piece of sh*t. I don’t even have the energy to move right now and feel like I will faint any minute.

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

About month ago I was diagnosed with coronary artery disease (CAD) and had to go through cardiac catheterization to get a stent.
I am in mid 30s and it's unbelievable that i have got this. Have been quite down mentally for last few weeks, and don't think if I can sustain the consulting life anymore.
I am working hard to stop the progression of disease and potentially reverse it. Hope things work out.

What do you do when you hit one of those times where the project work is just so terrible (like at least 14 hr days bad) & on top of that nothing else in life is going right either & (cont).

Every time I start a new project, I just look forward to the roll off date. It’s just so sad how I never find any of my projects exciting or fulfilling. I’ve been looking for a new job outside of consulting for years but haven’t landed anything. I just feel mediocre at best not knowing how to even do my own job since the requirement changes all the time.
