Would this be a bad time to switch positions for the purposes of career progression and higher compensation? My current position seems stable but no room for growth and also a disorganized mess, not a very mature legal department. On one hand I’m the only that knows what they’re doing on the other hand i would like to go somewhere where I can learn more how a mature legal department should operate within a legally savvy business. But seems like a risky move in this economic climate?

Hi all 🙂👋🏻 Apologies for such a late post. I have an offer of 18 CTC(1L joining bonus) from Larsen & Toubro Infotech & 12.5 fixed from IBM .
My joining in both are in around May last week. Tomorrow my IBM pre onboarding HR will connect with me. Should I ask for a counter offer tomorrow itself?
Or should I ask 2 weeks before joining?
Many told me that companies revise CTC when the joining date is near, else they show less interest. So should I go for it now itself?

That was on September 9th. I sent a thank you followup email the next day with letters of recommendation like I had mentioned in our conversation. At any level above Senior, how do u manage the relationship between utilization and realization, which is an inverse relationship. Seems to be either blow the budget (and write it off), or eat a lot of time.

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!

Is HNW tax a trap?
