Meanwhile, my sibling spent 4 years trying to get into med school, finally got into a non MD no name one in the middle of nowhere, works as a basic hospitalist, is loaded with insane debt, yet my parents can't stop talking about how they can't wait for my kids to become doctors. Any other lawyers within doctor siblings facing this type of treatment gap???

I know everyone will have different answers for this but how did you know it was time to get sober? I think it might be time for me to find a new job and pursue sobriety, but I don't feel like I'm a rock bottom which is the only time I've ever seen people really commit to it (my father). Apathy isn't the right word but I just kind of feel numb about everything and I think being sober would maybe help.

Salam. 23M here - all my life I’ve had my back on our faith - never really prayed but had imaan (I guess). I recently quit my job. My VP was a narcissist and never really looked out for my upward progression even though he said he was my sponsor. Whenever I would do a solid job, he would always down play it or give the mid-level mgr credit even though other people / management acknowledged it. But we still got along. When I gave my two week notice, I did not meet up or talk to him (I cancelled a good bye 1-on-1 b/c I was over it) - sent a short thank you email instead and ghosted. Was this justified?
