CFP, asking advisors out more than five years... has it really made a difference in your career growth/AUM and how clients perceive you? I guess I’m asking, was it really worth it?
Relocating to Columbus, OH area. Would prefer to transition to Independent. Have over 5 yrs as lead advisor experience and cfp. Could probably transition 4-5m and help with existing book.
What advice would you give if I’m choosing between getting my cfp and through consulting? Which one would give me more $$ and better life quality?
I’m 9 years in. Currently taking the educational requirement for CFP through American College. I feel like I can’t focus because I am not really learning anything. Any tips to keep eyes on prize?
How to handle a toxic work environment? My team hired a new guy who has 0 experience and is younger than me, yet he was hired with a higher job title than me. I am fully licensed with my SIE/Series7/63/CFP (he has none of these). The firm makes these decisions but I am dumbfounded. I’m told if I want a higher job title I have to forgo overtime eligibility. Seems like a cop out answer.
Best study guide for CFP?
If anyone out here is a rising CFP and looking for their next opportunity near or around the Minneapolis, MN area, DM me! I had an awesome conversation with a firm yesterday who is looking to fill a junior advisor role (succession opportunity down the road). This sounds like a great opportunity for the right person!
I’m looking for a fully licensed FA with 3-5 years experience in the North Dallas,Tx area. Small BOB preferred. The position is salaried with discretionary bonus. The advisor must be people oriented and desire to obtain the CFP designation.
Hello, want to know if my salary of 115k is reasonable for my position? Background: 26 years old, 3 years industry experience, SIE, Series 7 & 66, AIF, and over half way through my CFP. I am part of a team around 500M AUM and in next few months I will have officially been with my RIA firm for 2 years. My title is associate advisor. Thank you!
Anyone know of firms with the Los Angeles area that help you and encourage you to attain the CFP? I’m finding it hard finding local firms that have career trajectory from Client Servicing to full Advisory work. I’m willing to pay for self study and take local classes but would love and appreciate sponsorship. Any advice in general for making the jump from more client servicing to advisory would be greatly appreciated. Ideally I’d love to make my way towards either an Advisor or Strategist.
Anyone here a CFP (certified financial planner)? Any recs for programs and/or tips/tricks?
Underpaid? 5 years managing 250+ households, working toward my CFP (advisor’s request), conduct meetings in FAs absence, travel to meet clients out of state, cultivated many relationships on my own, work with wholesalers to customize structured notes and trade them biweekly (tedious with the volume we do), manage 40+ SBLOCs (fun when volatile), provide all financial planning services to clients, office management, marketing, did I mention I’m his only staff member? $1M producer - me $65k/year
I keep hearing that the CFP is worth it. What makes it worth it? The knowledge, the credibility, the confidence? All of the above I assume. Do you have prospects seek you out?
I now have both CFP and AAMS. Does anyone know if there is a standard in prioritizing the designations?
Any 🐠 have a CFP? Was it worth the time investment? Trying to decide whether to pursue CPA or CFP for long-term market competitiveness. (Not looking to dedicate several years for CFA.)
Any fintechs looking for consultants that have strategy and product management experience and a CFP?

Any advice on how to start out as a total newbie? Which firm to start with? Part time option? Should I get the CFP first? Thanks!
Accepted an offer with a new company for a similar role I’m currently doing with over double the money. (YAY!) My immediate boss, was completely classless and belittled me for leaving. • “You can’t handle the role here? Good to know.” •” You are taking a step backwards in your career?” (I’m not) • “If you can’t handle running a large sales org, then this makes sense, I’ll make sure your replacement can.” (I can and do, and will at my next role, making double the money.) 🙄🙄🙄 stay classy
The only thing going for Trump compared to Biden is his winning chops when it comes to the economy. The HNW GOP bass may start to think twice if the markets continue to slide.
Hi, Doing MBA from an Average college verses doing MA from a central University. Which is a better option when you are already working.

Kamusta? I'm new here. I'm a CPA in the Philippines. I'm thinking if I can continue my profession and progress my career in other country and also to seek higher salary with great benefits but less cost of living. Where do you think should I start checking on? 😁 I'm thinking if I should go back as External Assurance Auditor to where I am 2.5 yrs ago in a one of the Big 4 before I became a Consultant on a project-based as, so far, as Tax Specialist. Any advise to my baby mind? Thank you! 😊
