Just got a huge offer from a start up! 300k base. I heard RECESSION starts in July 2022, does it make sense to keep my 150 K job at Accenture and reject the offer? Don’t want to risk getting fired from start up. Please share some advice. I heard it on the news today, Nasdaq is at a 14 year low

Take the job, refer me, together we’ll keep the startup profitable I pinky promise

You need to take the opportunity. Any big firm would take you right back if needed. These firms preach loyalty only as a brainwashing technique - it’s doesn’t really get you much in return.

Are you one of the people that we hired in the last 6 months since, the great RESIGNATION… into L7… with two years experience… trying to leave before the rest of us catch on? If so I would hedge your bets with the start up. If it falls through you could always get an advisory gig at the federal reserve.

like

I don’t think he / she cares if you catch on, Mr. ALL CAPS

What’s the name of the start up 😅

So we can short it?

If you can accurately predict a recession, you are definitely Partner track. I would stay at Accenture and continue to predict the future

Take the offer and try to negotiate more stock as part of your package. Congrats.

I thought SUCCESSION was coming back in June…was this an autocorrect?

Take the job there is recession but there is still demand for talent. Digital transformation initiatives are still a priority

No, the Nasdaq is not at a 14 year low. Please look at a chart!

I don’t think recession is coming.

You should as for 400k base

like

Taking a job at a startup can be risky regardless of a recession. If you believe the startup is solid and you have some emergency savings I’d say go for it.

like

Make sure to see the proof of funds, use of funds and how your salary fits in as well as any financials they have, taxes paid and operating agreement, etc…

helpful

I used to think that people like Op are flexing but ince I started interviewing, people are will to offer $200k, yet my current comp is $98k

like

If they are hiring for corp dev/M&A roles then they must be pretty late-stage, at least series C with $100M+ in funding? Are you talking $200k TC or base. I know my friend with 3YOE in a partnerships manager role at a 10B valuation unicorn makes about consulting salary, which could mean $150-200k TC

like

I guess is your concern here that this is a scam? I feel like maybe you didn’t word this well and that this is your actual concern? Clearly the company likes you since 300k is a lot of money. Also clear they aren’t really in startup mode anymore if they are paying this much since that’s a lot of money.

I’ve heard salaries have gone up quite a bit in the midst of the pandemic and I’m wondering if this is true for EAs as well. There’s a myriad of data online about EA salaries depending on age/experience but I’m interested in salaries from jobs accepted in 2020/2021 specifically!

Please feel free to share:

- Your salary from any job accepted in 2020/2021
- Any offers you may have received but rejected
- Your length of experience

This question is quite broad and subjective but would love to hear some thoughts. For a couple with family income of about 60 LPA in India, is it wise to move to Canada/UK via the PR route? I have seen no matter how much experience you have, it's usually about building up from scratch.

Seems that the vaccine that usually takes more than 10 years to develop, test for side effects and go through the regulation process is being very fast tracked to roll out - which is a super great thing to potentially eradicate the virus. on the other side of the spectrum, people with life sciences n healthcare insights, how reliable and safe would you say vaccine (being fast tracked) is...?

My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. Non white EEs make up about 35% of the company rn.
