Bain & Company Hello, I received an offer as a Senior Practice Manager at Bain. The profit sharing range is 0-12% in the offer letter. Is it typical to receive the midpoint (6%)? Also, what do the annual salary increases typically look like? Any insights are much appreciated. Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company

Take the job, refer me, together we’ll keep the startup profitable I pinky promise
You need to take the opportunity. Any big firm would take you right back if needed. These firms preach loyalty only as a brainwashing technique - it’s doesn’t really get you much in return.

Breaking news: recession is starting at 8PM EST tonight
Post of the year nominee 🏅
I have it on good authority that recession won’t start until August.
If McKinsey decides when the recession starts that leaves Accenture to figure out who’s going to jail when the pyramid scheme collapses.
Who paying you 300k my guy
Accenture 2 - "Please..." underrated comment

"The recession starts in July"..?

If it’s one of our portfolio companies that’s paying 300k for this level of critical thinking, we really have some self-examination to do…

It isn’t just return but also a function of how much capital was pumped into VCs in a low interest environment. Made it highly competitive also which led to higher multiples as well. Not sure how many VCs can boast a disciplined investing approach…
Well, you can just make it 6 months, get fired and take 6 months off to find a new gig. Come out even.
I heard RECESSION wont be till December actually.

I was wondering why it was in all caps too
For those poking at July …. Q1 was negative growth. A recession is technically two quarters which we would know in July. I don’t see much positive news or metrics which don’t at least point to a very real probably of a 2nd quarter negative gdp as well.
❤️ that was so cool wasn't it... I can't believe people came on here and ruined it... at least we have the memories
Sign the offer before the start up sees this 😂😂
If you KNOW the recession starts in July: take all your savings, short the market, infinite money.
Nitpicking: Shorting isn’t infinite money. The market can’t go below 0. It does have infinite loss potential (in theory).

🤦♂️
Take it and make sure the startup survives
Sorry, what day in July is the recession starting? I have a family vacay planned that I don't want to mess up...
I heard July 1st. The recession wants to ruin everyone's long weekend.
Am I the only wondering how people with no attention to detail are getting paid so much?

Big picture = big bucks
Anyone who thinks that “the news” can tell them exactly when the recession will start clearly has no ability to do any critical thinking. I am fault confident to predict that a start up giving someone like that $300k will fail very quickly
Exactly what I was thinking
Accenture pay basically made me feel like we were already living in a recession
The start up generated $83 m last year and on track to $100m this year with 55 employees mostly junior employees, just beefing up senior leadership after a $50 m series B round in January
Seriously? Accenture pays 150k to a person that manages a client that is worth 3 mil ? All I do is push SQL tables around and I get 105k + performance 6% bonus.
If you’re savings are in a good place and you can survive layoffs for a month or two, I would jump that 150k boat and paddle away.
