Pros and cons of unlimited PTO?

Anyone think leo will be hiring creatives over the next few months? I know there were some layoffs before the holiday.

I am leaving my firm soon and want to use vacation my last week ( we have unlimited time off). Do you think the firm would be ok with that assuming all my work is wrapped up. I am an audit manager leaving for industry

Desperately need some motivation to stop order taking. If I'm lucky, I'm barely gonna hit 100% this Q. I get a ton of leads and feel like I just need to give them what they want and go to the next. But in reality i do non work related shit for at least 1-2 hours per day. When I WFH, I normally wake up 5 mins before meetings. There's enough time but I'm burnt out having not taken vacation in 6+ years. I can't vacation now. I need to crush numbers and hopefully take some time off in January. HELP

What’s your PTO like? I just started a new position with a $25k increase in salary from my previous role, great benefits (besides PTO), and a good environment …. But I start with 0 hours of PTO and accrue up to 12 days over the course of a year. Am I crazy or is this terrible for a tech position? My previous role, which I hated, had unlimited PTO which we were encouraged to use.

I love that expert firms are now just sending their holiday treats directly to my home, but I hope they don't show up at my door in 2021 asking when is a good time to discuss my expert witness needs.

Stop talking about how busy and frantic you are with work on a holiday week. It’s not a badge of honor, and I’m not impressed. There are only two reasons why you’re busy:
1. You suck at planning.
2. You don’t know how to set boundaries.
3. You don’t care enough about your direct reports to set boundaries so that they can relax this week.

I just received an offer from Deloitte USDC coming on as a Investigations Senior Consultant @ $110k, $5k signing bonus, 100% remote position (requested) Can Someone explain what benefits are afforded to me? Is the 401k match the same? Recruiter stated 3 weeks and 3 days of PTO…does that mean 18 days or 24 days? Also, can someone clarify the parental leave policy as compared to core? Can these be negotiated? I’ve been a 10 year Special Agent/Federal Agent and Officer with the military. Tx!

Help! I’m transitioning into Product Design and finally got my first offer. Super excited but want to make sure that I’m compensated competitively. The company is a newer startup, estab. around 2017. I would be their first PD. They have offered me the following 2 options to choose between:

- CAD $77,000 p.a., 20 days of paid annual leave, 10 days of paid sick leave

- CAD $81,000 p.a.,10 days of paid annual leave, 5 days of paid sick leave

I prefer more PTO but also higher salary. Thoughts?

In our dept we have full time nurses and short hour (SH) nurses who work 20 hours a week. We do non-bedside, office-based work, M-F. When it comes to certain tasks, the SH nurses push back and say they won’t do it. For example: we have to work this upcoming Saturday to do testing for Epic. We laid out a plan for the SH nurses to work 18 hours this week so they can sign on Saturday for 2 hours to help us out. They are all refusing. We have no manager right now. Do you treat PT/SH special??

What’s the difference between tech advisory and tech strategy? How technically deep are tech advisory managers? I have an offer to join as a tech advisory manager but my experience is mostly in traditional strategy consulting. I do have a technical background and can be deep in data science but definitely not well-versed in defining enterprise architectures, migrating workloads to cloud and etc.
