Common in Big 4
I didn’t have that when I came to Deloitte
3 years is too long. 1 year is common and pro-rated is a plus. I would negotiate that part of your offer or stay prepared to pay it back if needed.
That’s normal. You might be able to negotiate it shorter, mine was just 2 years but that’s the way they offered it.
Mine was 1 year but only 5k
Dang they increased it to three years? Mine was two years and I had to pay back half when I left after 18 months (though I did negotiate with my new employee to cover the amount).
Yea I guess. That’s what I was thinking. If I do leave, I’ll just get new job to cover the amount.
Standard practice.

Deloitte does the same thing but typically over 2 years. So 3 is just one year longer 😊
3 years is a lot. Mine was 1 year. Can you negotiate down to 2 years?

That’s a long time for the signing bonus. Unless you’re planning to stay for more than three years that clawback on the bonus doesn’t sound good
How much is the signing bonus?
Agree with M1 - that’s such a small amount. Honestly I am surprised EY is asking for a 3 year payback on 15k - sounds like penny pinching
Mine was 10k with 1 year clawback. 2 years ago joined as a Senior
Seems like a warning sign.
It really shouldn’t matter. Either you stay 5 years and you clear the window or you leave for a better offer and tell them about the clawback. Every time I have had a clawback on a signing bonus the new company offer has included paying that back to me. I wouldn’t stress about it. Will say 3 years seems rather long, what level are you.

I didn’t have any stipulations when I joined
When did you join? Also what role and level
