Op sorry to say this but there is not a great way to get fired. It always sucks on the receiver end, and for legal reasons companies and leadership are usually pretty curt about it. It will seem heartless - but most won’t give you reasons (or have long feeelinngs convos about it) that could open them up for lawsuits. Not at LEK but this has been true every firm I’ve been at.
I am sorry for you OP, but it’s unfair to come here and call this a ‘Layoff’
I am a manager at L.E.K. And can categorically confirm we didn’t have any layoffs.
We just went through a review period and people that may have been placed on PIPs last period were probably let go.
People with consistent 3s (meets expectation) do not get placed on PIPs / do mot get fired unless there was another problem (e.g., sexual harassment)
This is a post by someone who is (naturally) upset at being let go for lower performance.
Nothing in the above appeared undiplomatic to me haha

People shiz on Deloitte on this app but always see the worst stuff form LEK… by far.
LEK 4 is correct
LEK is not doing “lay-offs” this was probably a behavioral problem
DM for BCG referral. Though we likely won’t be offering start dates sooner than Q1 2023 fyi.
DMed you
Can refer to EY. Placed my last candidate relatively quickly.
Why are people laughing……??? We have some sick fox’s in here … show some empathy towards a young consultant
LEK employees fighting for their life in this thread rn
NOT a layoff. Sorry to hear this happened OP but this is a “firing” for performance or fit issues and not a layoff.
Sorry to hear this - if you come across a role at EY that you like, feel free to dm
Kpmg counts?

Sorry that really sucks. What happened?
After seeing all answers by L.E.K.’s staff, the only thing clear to me is that OP is much better off outside the firm…Not a single helpful comment
Scared me into thinking consulting has already been hit hard by recession. Sounds like this case could be a one-off “layoff”
Lay off was in quotes
I am an associate, so 1 year out of college
Sorry to hear OP. Always sucks…
I’ve been laid off twice and had a PIP about to get implemented but managed to transfer internally. After that did a multi billion $ product launch which moved share price and won awards and now managing a team at a mid cap company in a space I find super interesting.
It sucks at the time but bounce back strong! How you react builds to your long term story.
Good luck.

Were you a victim of the sleazy thing LEK has been doing where they give folks an unofficial 6 month pilot and let them go at the end?
OP I’d love to hear more about this and help if I can. DM me?
Always do a "Post Mortem" after a project or job ends. Figure out what you could have done to be more competitive. And fix that.
Which office?
So sorry to hear about this. If you haven’t already, apply for unemployment insurance with your state. I think it’s ~$500 a week. Not a lot, but a little bit to help during a tough time. I can refer you at West Monroe
Happy to refer to PwC
In a freeze here, sorry can't help more
